A trial run before your wedding day is really a must.

This will allow you and the makeup artist to discuss every option and to perfect your bridal look. A pre-event beauty consultation also helps to alleviate any stressful last minute decision making, allowing you to escape into the moment.

Timing is everything.

I usually recommend that the bride have her makeup done last, so she can visit a little bit with everyone, hopefully eat something, and be the freshest possible when she steps into her gown. Think of it this way: hair, makeup, dress, limo!

“Natural” doesn’t mean “No makeup.”

Trust me, if you are the one in the white dress facing 8-10 hours before a flash you need some makeup. Even if you look phenomenal in real life, it will not translate onto film. Remember, your white dress (okay, off white, eggshell, ecru) will reflect onto your face & you will look washed out and pale. A bride also needs a lipstick that is bright enough to show up in pictures and from a distance. Now, I didn’t say neon and I didn’t say cherry red; I have a range of acceptable colors that won’t make you feel uneasy and painted up (see my must haves page).

Airbrushed makeup really does look natural if applied correctly. It is specific to the digital uber-pixillated high definition world we have entered, and goes hand in hand with photographing flawlessly, yet naturally. Airbrushed makeup looks and feels like you are wearing very little, if any makeup. The line I use is silicone free, so there is no slip to it, making it perfect for those with oily or combination skin. It also will not rub off or smudge and is water resistant. I also offer a waterproof formula.

that a relaxed face photographs beautifully.

After the event is over, your main remembrance of it will be your photos and video! It is absolutely worth investing in a professional makeup artist to ensure that you look your ultimate best so you photograph your ultimate best.
